After a week of algorithms, challenging problems, new friendships and experiences beyond the competition itself, JBOI 2026 has officially come to an end in Sarajevo. 

From 22 to 28 September, the Junior Balkan Olympiad in Informatics brought together 14 teams representing 13 countries, giving young programmers an opportunity to test their knowledge at an international level, exchange experiences and connect with peers from across the region. 

Most importantly, we would like to congratulate all JBOI 2026 participants. Reaching an international competition at this level is already a significant achievement, and the knowledge, dedication and persistence demonstrated throughout the Olympiad deserve recognition regardless of the final ranking. 

For Bosnia and Herzegovina, hosting JBOI for the first time made the week particularly special, and the home teams gave us even more reason to celebrate. 

Bosnia and Herzegovina concluded JBOI 2026 with three bronze medals and one honourable mention. Bronze medals were awarded to Dilan Tuzović, Mahir Hodžić and Faris Varnica, while Jovan Žilić received an honourable mention. 

Congratulations to all eight young programmers who represented Bosnia and Herzegovina, and especially to the medal and recognition recipients for their excellent results at an international competition of this level. 

A different kind of challenge 

While the competition itself was all about algorithms, problem-solving and results, App Impact’s role as Gaming Sponsor focused on another part of the JBOI experience: giving participants a chance to step away from their screens, spend time together and have some fun. 

After two demanding competition days, the games brought a different kind of challenge, centred on teamwork, exploration and shared experiences outside the competition environment. 

We hope they gave participants another opportunity to connect, get to know each other and create good memories together. If the games helped make their week in Sarajevo even a little more memorable, we are very happy to have played a part. 🎮 

Supporting the community beyond JBOI 

Our involvement in JBOI 2026 also continues our cooperation with Informatičke olimpijade u Bosni i Hercegovini (IOBiH). 

The IOBiH online community at bhoi.ba is powered by our Webricks platform, bringing together competitions, educational programmes, news, results, resources and other activities for young informatics talents across Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

From supporting the digital space where this community connects and grows to joining JBOI 2026 as Gaming Sponsor, we are glad to contribute to an environment that encourages young people to develop their knowledge, challenge themselves and build connections through technology.
