From 22 to 28 September 2026, Sarajevo will host the Junior Balkan Olympiad in Informatics (JBOI 2026) for the first time, welcoming some of the region's most talented young programmers to Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

Organized by Informatičke olimpijade u Bosni i Hercegovini (IOBiH) and hosted in Sarajevo, this year's Olympiad will bring together 15 teams from 14 countries. Bosnia and Herzegovina will be represented by eight young competitors across two teams. 

JBOI is an international algorithmic programming competition for young students, designed to challenge their knowledge through complex problems that require logical thinking, algorithm design and efficient coding. Beyond the competition itself, the Olympiad gives participants an opportunity to exchange knowledge, meet peers with similar interests and build connections across participating countries. 

Hosting JBOI for the first time represents an important milestone for Bosnia and Herzegovina's competitive programming and informatics community. It brings an established international competition to Sarajevo while creating an opportunity to put the knowledge, dedication and achievements of young programmers from Bosnia and Herzegovina in an international setting. 

For App Impact, being part of JBOI 2026 builds on our existing cooperation with IOBiH. 

Our Webricks platform powers the IOBiH online community at bhoi.ba, bringing together competitions, educational programmes, news, results, resources and other activities for young informatics talents across the country. 

During JBOI 2026, our involvement will move beyond the digital platform as App Impact joins the event as a Gaming Sponsor. 🎮 

Alongside days dedicated to algorithms, problem-solving and competition, participants will also have opportunities to step away from their screens, spend time together and enjoy activities designed to make their stay in Sarajevo even more memorable. 

Supporting JBOI 2026 is another way for us to contribute to a community that encourages young people to develop their knowledge, challenge themselves and connect through technology.
