Behind every successful young programmer is a community that nurtures talent, encourages curiosity, and creates opportunities to learn and grow. For nearly two decades, the Association "Informatičke olimpijade u Bosni i Hercegovini" (IOBiH) has been dedicated to identifying and supporting talented students through education, competitions, and participation in some of the world's most prestigious programming olympiads.

In June 2025, we partnered with IOBiH to create a new digital platform that reflects the organization's mission and provides the flexibility needed to support its growing community.

A Platform Built Around the Community

As IOBiH continues to expand its educational programmes, competitions, and international activities, it needed more than a traditional website. The goal was to build a central digital space where students, mentors, parents, partners, and the wider IT community could easily access information, follow ongoing activities, and participate in educational programmes.

Built on our Webricks platform, the new portal combines a modern content management system with functionality tailored to the organization's everyday work. Standard Webricks modules, including news, pages, galleries, documents, contact forms, newsletters, community management, sponsor management, and multiple registration workflows, give the IOBiH team the flexibility to publish content and manage communication through a single administration interface.

Beyond functionality, the portal was designed to reflect the values of IOBiH. Its clean visual identity and intuitive navigation place educational content, competitions, and community activities at the forefront, creating an accessible experience for students, mentors, parents, partners, and visitors alike. The result is a digital presence that supports both the organization's day-to-day work and its long-term vision.

Supporting Education and Competition

One of the most significant parts of the project was developing functionality designed specifically for IOBiH's educational and competition programmes.

The new competition module provides a comprehensive overview of national and international competitions, allowing visitors to browse events through advanced search and filtering options. Each competition includes its own dedicated page with detailed information, descriptions, and published results, creating a valuable archive for participants and the wider community.

Alongside competition management, the platform includes a comprehensive education module built to support the organization's training programmes. Administrators can create educational programmes consisting of multiple learning cycles, manage participant registrations, organize agendas, assign lecturers and locations, and oversee the complete educational process from a single system.

To further support learning, the platform also includes an integrated examination module, enabling online tests with automatic scoring and evaluation. This significantly simplifies administration while providing participants with a structured and transparent learning experience.

Designed to Grow

Beyond the custom functionality, the portal was designed with long-term growth in mind. Its responsive interface, flexible content management, and modular architecture make it easy for the IOBiH team to expand the platform as new initiatives, competitions, and educational programmes are introduced.

By combining Webricks' standard capabilities with functionality developed specifically for the organization's needs, the platform provides a solid foundation that can continue evolving alongside the community it serves.

Projects like this demonstrate how technology can do more than deliver information. It can support education, strengthen communities, and help organizations create opportunities for future generations.
